Thatโs quite the digital detox, Luke! It sounds like youโve discovered something valuable, the power of privacy in a world obsessed with visibility. - Looking inward can be a lot more valuable than looking outward.
Yeah slowly began doing it over a year ago and itโs a process for sure. Iโve always been pretty conscious of what I share, even at peak unhinged it was still maybe 15% of my life online.
You're totally one of those people who share my braincell. Never have I been so absorbed in something in this sad era of media. 10/10. Would recommend. Go ๐ฅ
Love this, Luke! I respect the instinct behind your purge, building with intention instead of letting the tools build you.
I come at it from the fiction/creative side (specifically using it as a tool to harness my fractured ADHD thoughts). I treat AI like a studio instrument, a partner that helps sharpen story structure, explore character arcs, and unlock ideas Iโd miss on my own.
I find it amplifies my humanity instead of replacing it.
I concede about the privacy creep. Public AI tools are drifting toward app stores, tracking, and convenience traps. But my north star is simple: does this tool help me make better art without costing me my soul?
I love that youโre taking the private-AI/hacker route. Iโm taking the narrative-intelligence/creative-craft route. Different pathsโsame desire for intention and mastery.
I'd love to be able to do what I do without risking my privacy, roll my own private AI second-mind.
Hey John thanks my good man. We all have to follow our path and own our choices and I own all of mine. Big respect to your methods and best of luck with the creative journey.
Look who it is ๐
I support anyone who shits on tech for ALL of the reasons you highlighted ..
Wassup Luke ๐

I'm excited to see what you build in the shadows!

Was there a specific moment or experience you had that prompted you to delete your socials and go down the private AI rabbit hole?
Hi! Nice to read some truth bombs from you ๐
I would say that nerds and hackers have been ruling in the shadows for a while, they're too good at it.
So you're saying Hoody AI won't store any of your data?
You can never promise 100% unless you self host. But they are as close as you can get with this type of AI service.
Hey Luke ๐
Good to see you back :)
It seems to say 'Error 404' when I click on the sign up button.
Hmmm perhaps they are updating. You can sign up for the waitlist here: https://hoody.com/
